Bella Lune 06/14/09

Posted on Sunday, June 14, 2009 in Uncategorized

Sorry about the late post. Got so caught up in my new toys, I forgot to upload some work. If your pictures are not up here yet, dont worry. They are coming.

Anyways, Bella Lune performed with Peter Murphy (pictures not up yet) at the Marquee. First time I have seen them play with the new violin player. Added an awesome almost gypsy type feel to the music.

28 weeks later

Posted on Friday, May 18, 2007 in Uncategorized

Last night I saw 28 weeks later. The movie despite what I would of thought about it was awesome. There were a lot of dramatic improvements and weaknesses over the prior film (28 days later). Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, kept true to his fans not being the same director as the prior film. The cinematography was identical to the prior movie. There were a few scenes that shook around to much almost to the point that you couldn’t tell what was happening in the movie, but the insinuation was enough to keep you clenching to your date. The only real addition to the movie that brought down its status to the prior film, was the introduction of a bad character (Robert Carlyle) who has unexplained reoccurring appearances in the movie. The action sequences in this film were so gruesome and realistic you start feeling like you are actually a player in the movie. Admittedly, you want to deny the political undertones that are present in this movie surrounding the u.s. military that is in the film, however in this day and age, there is never a moment that you can show a military anything with out some symbolism behind it. This is definitely one of the best horror movies that has been released this year and I definitely suggest seeing this movie while its still in theaters. I give it a 4 1/2 out of 5 stars.

Party at Marisas house last night.

Posted on Sunday, March 25, 2007 in Uncategorized

I really don’t know where to begin… the events that transpired last night (with a few things left out for legal reasons) where something so random and so amazing at the same time that few words can describe it.
The night started off as any normal gathering. I was at Marisa’s house hanging out with her and the roommates that lived there. One room mate Freddy, was thinking about having a small party for his fraternity. So preparations already were underway. Marisa and I went to get food for everyone. We got Lettuce raps, Orange chicken and a few other things. Good Meal. Afterwards I took one of Freddy’s friends, Lucas, to the grocery store to pick up “Supplies” for the evening and had already made arrangements for my friend Evan to bring some by on his way over as well. The main reason I invited Evan is because I have heard that he is amazing base guitar player and one of the room-mates, Nick, is an awesome guitar player as well. I wanted the two of them to meet and jam out for a while. Come to find out that when Evan shows up, Nick had already known him for some time and they used to play together on a normal basis. So they played guitar for a bit and i was astounded with they’re skill. How well they played from just watching each other and improvising and reading each others notes was very amazing.
Afterwards, we went outside… smoked a hookah for a bit. Apple flavor, it was really relaxing. The night went on, we played a game or two of basketball and watched an interesting version of beer pong taking place in the back garage. Soon after that Evan had invited two of his friends Hailey and Matt who were also guitar players. In about a half hour the lot of them. Evan, Matt, Hailey and Nick were down stairs tuning everything up. The sounds that came afterward could only be described as Mythical Legends. Im not saying that out of playing up my friends. My refrence for that was theyre skill and professionalism. They have rarely played together and were putting songs together on the fly that I would gladly pay to hear. They were Spartans of theyre instruments. A short while later the last peice to the puzzle joined. An amazing drummer named Dwayne. Probably the best ive seen live ever. The whole group together had a Pink Floyd with Acoustic versions of A Perfect Circle with a heavy blues downbeat overture and the drums carried almost a drum and base feel to it moving a lot faster pace but keeping with the music perfectly. During the pause where the drummer joined, i bolted from my seat to get the others from outside. I was in the basement by myself listening to the group. I ran outside and to my amazment they had not heard any of the music. They had theyre own stereo going on, so i turned it off real quickly. It got theyre attention. Just before they started to accost me for shutting off the stereo, the band had started up again and Hailey was laying down a vocal track. I shouted at them for not experiencing which I could only in my intoxicated state say the “the sound which is sex that graced my ears”. Everyone ran down stairs and didn’t hesitate to try and push me out of the way on their way down. I got my seat and we listened in awe and bliss. Unfortunatly the band only got to get out a few songs before the room-mates had to shut it down. They had a 90 day warning from the police for noise. However somehow i think that if a neighbor did hear it, i don’t think they would of complained. No one wanted them to stop, however by the time the room mates had changed their mind, they band was already packed up to leave.
It was an awesome experience to have something so random come together so well. I only wish i had not forgotten my camera and a recording of the experience.
